Guru Bahasa Inggeris di sekolah-sekolah rendah semakin panas punggung apabila LPM masih lagi belum memberikan isyarat untuk taklimat teknik penandaan kertas Bahasa Inggeris yang mengalami perubahan drastik daripada segi format dan kaedah pemarkahannya.

Namun begitu, sebagai guru terlatih, mereka harus sentiasa mencari alternatif bagi menghadapi situasi sebegini.

Berikut adalah cadangan daripada salah seorang guru Bahasa Inggeris yang juga Guru Besar yang kerap memberi ceramah kaedah pengajaran dan pembelajaran terbaik Bahasa Inggeris terutama untuk calon UPSR.

What we should do is teach and teach. Our pedagogy and the contents are important. The basic skills first. Teach our pupils to write simple sentences, then expand the sentences, then enhance
  1. Give them a lot of vocabulary especially according to the topics from the year 4,5 and year 6 text books (grammar practices, topic by topic and drilling)
  2. Make sure our pupils can already write using the correct grammar, especially the article, singular plural, subject verb agreement and the punctuation then add in the other part of speech. (family of nouns and family of verbs)
  3. For section 2B, just give them samples of e-mail, postcards, notice, messages, informal letter, recipe, recount for them to read etc.
  4. For practices in class, you can give them anything with 5 points, let them talk about 3 points at least and answer the wh /1h ,or give reason why?
  5. Plainly describe about the stimulus, whatever given ask 10 questions who? what? where? why? when? how? how many? which or repeat the wh ques, with the answers they'll get information to write so whatever question it may be our pupils can already write
